PASSIONATE. PATIENT. PERSISTENT.
Welcome to Miss Behaviour, where a lifelong love for animals meets a passion for understanding and improving canine behaviour. Meet Miss B, the driving force behind this endeavor, and a Certified Canine Behaviour Trainer with a heart dedicated to rescue advocacy and positive training methods.
Hi, I’m Miss B—dog lover, behaviour coach, and lifelong learner with a passion for helping humans and their four-legged companions live harmoniously. My journey into the world of animal welfare began in 2007, when I first stepped into the role of volunteer, foster, and former board member for an animal rescue organization in the Edmonton area. However, there was a pivotal moment in 2016, while volunteering at the animal reunification centre during the FMM wildfires, that changed my trajectory and solidified my dedication to this cause. Through this experience, I found my calling with Zoe’s Animal Rescue Society, where I officially became a volunteer and foster and further embraced the ethos of compassion and care for animals in need in our community.

Throughout my journey, I have rescued dozens of animals and through these experiences, have been compelled to delve deep into understanding canine behaviour. My dedication to ensuring the well-being of a litter of eight puppies and their mother, rescued from deplorable conditions in 2019, led me to further explore evidence-based training methodologies. Enrolling in the K9 Misfits Canine Behaviour and Training Methodology program, I immersed myself in fear-free, force-free training methods, graduating with a wealth of knowledge and a commitment to applying these principles in my work in rescue and training.
As a proud member of the Alberta Force Free Alliance, the Pet Professionals Guild, and the Shock-Free Coalition, I uphold the standards of ethical and humane treatment in my practice. In 2019, I founded Miss Behaviour, and continue to grow this platform not only for providing fear-free, force-free training and guidance, but also for creating fun and engaging pet-related products.
While dogs have always been my first and greatest passion, there’s a lesser-known side of me that has also shaped who I am today. For the past 20 years, I’ve proudly supported Alberta’s health care system from a strategic perspective. This journey ultimately led me down the path of the CPA (Chartered Professional Accountants) program.
I hold a variety of accounting and business credentials including a Bachelor of Commerce and I’ve successfully completed my CPA education and examinations and am in the final stretch of earning my designation. I specialize in strategy and finance (not a tax accountant so please don’t ask me for tax advice!).
As a manager with Alberta Health Services, I’ve honed my analytical skills, professionalism, and expertise—qualities that have seamlessly translated into running Miss Behaviour. This unique combination of careers has given me a deep appreciation for the power of problem-solving, precision, and communication. Whether I’m navigating complex financial systems or guiding you through training techniques, I approach every challenge with a blend of knowledge, patience, and critical-thinking.

The dog training industry can sometimes feel unnecessarily competitive, but I believe there’s room for all of us working toward the shared goal of improving the lives of pet dogs and their families. I’ll never claim to be better than or above another professional who shares my values. I genuinely want others—trainers, pet parents, and their pups—to succeed, and I’m proud to mentor aspiring dog professionals through education, outreach, and support.
I celebrate the diversity of approaches within the force-free training community, and I believe having options means you’re more likely to find a trainer whose personality and methods align with your needs—even if that’s not me, and that’s perfectly okay.
When you work with me, you’ll experience an ethical, force-free, science-backed approach designed to foster trust, understanding, and connection with your dog. My goal is to empower you with knowledge about how your dog thinks, listens, and learns so you can build a stronger, more enjoyable relationship together. There’s no one-size-fits-all solution to dog behaviour, and having me in your corner means you’ll receive tailored support and guidance that meets the unique needs of your dog and your situation.
I strive to make every session engaging and enjoyable, incorporating games, funny anecdotes, and relatable analogies to make learning fun and memorable. While I love teaching dogs, my true focus is on teaching and supporting you. By improving your communication and understanding of your dog, we can strengthen the bond you share and create lasting positive change.
At Miss Behaviour, your happiness and success are my priorities. I strive to be transparent about who I am and what you can expect when you invest in your dog’s training journey with me. I know I’m not your only option, and I want you to feel confident and excited about choosing me as your trainer. If I’m the right fit for you, I’ll be here to help you achieve your goals. If not, that’s okay too—I want you to find the approach and trainer that works best for you and your dog.
Together, we can all create a better world for dogs and the people who love them.🐾
