Initial Training Session (90 mins) – What’s Included:
- What Happens:
- In-Home Visit – Miss B will visit your home to assess your dog’s behaviour in their usual environment
- Discussion of Background & History – Every dog has a story and I want to hear yours! Understanding their past, daily life, previous training, skills and challenges helps me understand your situation and your training goals
- Behaviour Observation – While we’re chatting, I’ll be keenly observing how you and your dog interact and communicate. Observing their body language, reactions, and quirks in real-time in a neutral setting helps me establish a starting point for our training plan
- Connecting the Dots – Training can feel a lot like learning a new language, but don’t worry—I’ll translate the “bark to human” dictionary for you. I’ll use simplified examples and relatable anecdotes to help you understand why your dog does what they do and how to guide them toward behaviours you’ll love. Think of me as your doggie dictionary!
- Jump Into Action – After all that blabbing, I’ll show you exactly what to do with simple, hands-on exercises, and then get you started on your homework with a chance for some real-time feedback (yes, there will be homework!)
** Follow-ups can be added as needed and are typically scheduled 1-2 weeks apart, giving you time to practice, maintain your momentum, and see progress unfold. Follow-up sessions are an important part of the training process and can be held at home or “out in the wild,” like parks or stores, to help prepare you and your dog for real-world situations.**
